The purpose of the study will be to determine whether filtering and sterilizing the operating rooms air "reduces a composite of serious surgical site infections, infection-related complications, and death within 30 days after surgery.   This study is estimated to include approximately 86,639 adult partipants who receive non-cardiac surgery lasting for at least an hour.  Patients with present-on-admission infections will of course be excluded.
